Commissioning

Commissioning an item
of furniture in Greater London

The process

Having furniture specifically made for you is a special event but the process is relatively simple and based around you the client.

After the initial contact I will arrange to see you at your home, which allows me to discuss your detailed individual requirement and budget and see the environment where the furniture will eventually belong. From this initial visit I will draw up some ideas or maybe make conceptual models to be discussed at a further meeting. Once we are all agreed on what you want, I will produce a formal drawing and price.

I would normally take half the purchase price as a deposit to confirm that the work is to go ahead and allow me to purchase materials and fit the project into my making schedule. Once work is underway, I am happy for you to visit the workshop to see progress or perhaps take part in settling such details as how figuring on the timber would best suit the piece.

Having finished the work I will arrange a convenient delivery time and ensure the furniture is safely maneuvered into place, at which time the final balance is due.
